Septal cerebral veins originate at the lateral aspect of [[anterior horn]]s of [[lateral ventricle]]s then pass medially, inferior to the [[genu]] of [[corpus callosum]]. Then they turn backward and traverse along the [[septum pellucidum]] and they enter the [[internal cerebral vein]] behind the [[foramen of Monro]]. The septal veins drain [[corpus callosum]] and deep medullary frontal white matter.

The anterior/posterior septal veins cross the roof of the [[frontal horn]] and body of the [[lateral ventricle]] and the septum pellucidum
