Es un [[mielomeningocele]] poco común.

Estas lesiones ocurren sobre todo en la parte dorsal.

Sólo se han descrito tres casos (Balachandran, 2009; Brokinkel y col., 2013; Jiang y col., 2012)

Puede estar asociada con otras múltiples anomalías espinales como el [[síndrome de Klippel Feil]] (Brokinkel y col., 2013), lo que pone de relieve la importancia de amplios exámenes radiológicos preoperatorios (Jiang y col., 2012).

Puede requerir cirugía en caso de compresión de raíz nerviosa o mielopatía. 

La descompresión ósea , desanclaje y adhesiolisis bajo monitoreo electrofisiológico puede proporcionar suficiente mejoría clínico-radiológica (Brokinkel y col., 2013).
