May range from superficial to severe dehiscent [[wound infection]] to deeper infection ([[discitis]]/[[osteomyelitis]] ± [[epidural abscess]]). The risk is increased with [[age]], long term [[steroid]] use, [[obesity]], and possibly [[DM]]. Intraoperative mild [[hypothermia]] (as commonly occurs in the operating room) may also increase the risk of [[wound infection]] (as demonstrated with colorectal resection). Most are caused by S. aureus. laminectomy_wound_infection.txt Last modified: 2024/06/07 02:58by 127.0.0.1
