Es una forma efectiva de tratamiento de los quistes aracnoideos, que con la endoscopia y neuronavegación puede mejorar su fiabilidad (Turner y col., 2011).

Es el procedimiento más usado y en ocasiones puede ser necesaria la combinación con un shunt ventrículoperitoneal mediante conexión de 3 vías (Alexiou y col., 2010).

**Complicaciones**

Un caso de distorsión cerebelosa (Ahn y col., 2011).
