In [[2015]], the [[American Heart Association]] (AHA) made major changes to the guidelines for the [[endovascular treatment]] of [[acute ischemic stroke]].

In patients receiving intravenous t-PA for acute ischemic stroke due to occlusions in the proximal anterior intracranial circulation, thrombectomy with a stent retriever within 6 hours after onset improved functional outcomes at 90 days. Japanese evidence-based stroke guidelines were published in 2015 to present the current and comprehensive [[recommendation]]s for the diagnosis and treatment of [[stroke]]. In the spontaneous ICH, topics focused on prevention, management in the acute and chronic stage, complications, management of [[coagulopathy]] and blood pressure, prevention and control of secondary brain injury and intracranial pressure, the role of surgery, and other pathologies of ICH.
